It is my pleasure to welcome you to Martin Army Community Hospital Troop Command, Fort Benning, GA, “Home of the Maneuver Center of Excellence.”
The Troop Command is comprised of two subordinate companies. Alpha Company consists of services such as Pathology, Pharmacy, Radiology, Preventive Medicine, Nutrition Care and the Blood Donor Center. Bravo Company services include Family Practice and a Family Practice Residency Program, Pediatrics, OBGYN, Psychiatry, Allergy, Urology, Orthopedic Surgery, plus two outlying Family Practice Clinics, four local TMC’s, a TMC at Eglin AFB in Florida and another TMC located in Dahlonega, Georgia for ranger training.
Fort Benning is about 20 minutes from downtown Columbus, Georgia. It has a population of over 110,000 including Soldier Family members, Retirees, and Civilian Employees. The post offers a variety of training courses for both enlisted and officer personnel, to include Airborne and Jumpmaster courses, the Pathfinder and Ranger course.
The city of Columbus is located 1½ hours from Atlanta and 4 hours from the beaches in Panama City, Florida. A two hour drive north will take you to the mountains of Dahlonega, Georgia and Disney World is located in Orlando, Florida, which is 7 hours from post.
If you are on orders to BMACH, a sponsor will be in contact with you to assist you and your family during transition. Your sponsor will answer any questions you may have about your new assignment, the command or your new installation. Once you arrive, your sponsor will walk you through in-processing, set up appointments, introduce you to your chain-of-command and acquaint you and your family with the local installation and community.
I want to ensure you that your chain-of-command is committed to making your transition as smooth as possible and supporting you and you family’s needs before, during and after your transition into the unit.
