Sergeant Major Murray enlisted into the Army in March 1992 and attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He completed Advanced Individual Training (AIT) 68A Bio-Medical Repairer Course at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center, Colorado.

Sergeant Major Murray’s civilian education includes an Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology and he is currently working towards a Bachelor of Science Degree. Sergeant Major Murray has earned the Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification.
